Hatch-Slack (C4) Cycle
C4 plants like maize, sugarcane; pearl millet, etc. have evolved a wonderful mechanism to avoid photorespiration.
In these plants three or 2 types of photosynthetic cells namely mesophyll cells and bundle sheath cells are present. The bundle sheath cells are arranged in a wreath like manner, thus calling them as kranz anatomy.
One more speciality of C4 plants is that they contain dimorphic chloroplasts, that is chloroplasts in bundle-sheath cells are agranal. The presence of two types of cells allows the occurrence of light reactions and carbon reactions separately.

Wechsler defined intelligence as the global and aggregate capacity of an individual to think rationally, act purposefully and to deal effectively with his / her environment.PASS Model of Intelligence developed by J P Dass, Jack Naglieri & Kirby in 1994.This model is comprised of the following-P – PLANNINGA – AROUSAL / ATTENTIONS – SIMULTANEOUSS – SUCCESSIVEPlanning: After the information is attended to and processed, planning is activated. For example, planning a time schedule for gyming.Arousal/Attention: An optimal level of arousal focuses our attention to the relevant aspects of a problem.
Given that,Mass of the copper block, m = 2.5 kg = 2500 gRise in the temperature of the copper block, Δθ = 500°CSpecific heat of copper, C = 0.39 J g–1 °C–1Heat of fusion of water, L = 335 J g–1The maximum heat the copper block can lose, Q = mCΔθ = 2500 × 0.39 × 500 = 487500 J Let m1 g be the amount of ice that melts when the copper block is placed on the ice block. The heat gained by the melted ice, Q = m1L ∴ m1 = Q / L

(i) Glucose reacts with hydroxylamine to form glucose oxime Glucose reacts with hydrogen cyanide to form cyanohydrin. These reaction confirm the presence of a carbonyl group (>C=O) in glucose.ii) Glucose gets oxidised to six carbon carboxylic acid (gluconic acid) on reaction with a mild oxidising agent like bromine water. This indicates that the carbonyl group is present as an aldehydic group.
Hydraulic lift is a machine used to multiply the force and it is based on Pascal law.
Hydraulic lift consists of two cylinders of different cross-sectional areas connected with a pipe. The cylinders are filled with incompressible liquid and frictionless pistons are fitted in both the cylinders as shown in figure.Let a and A be the area of cross-section of smaller piston and bigger piston respectively. The load to be lifted is placed on bigger cross-section and effort is applied on smaller piston. Let a force f be applied on the smaller piston. The pressure exerted by f on piston is,According

Using mirror formula, 1f = 1v1 +1u-115 = 1v1 +1u⇒1v1 = 1-15 + 140∴ = - 24 cmWhen object is displaced by 20 cm towards mirror Now, u2 = -20So, 1f = 1v2 + 1u21-15 = 1v2 - 120⇒ 1v2 = 120-115Therefore, image shifts away from mirror by = 60-24 = 36 cm
Current flowing in the series combination is same for all appliances. Also, Power P = I2RSo, the resistance offered by the 500 W bulb will be more and less amount of current will pass through it. Hence, heat produced by the 100 W bulb will be more and it will glow brighter as compared to the 500 W bulb.

Once Saint Peter stopped by an old lady s cottage because he was feeling hungry and weak after the day s fasting. The lady was baking cakes on the hearth. Since he was weak with fasting, he asked her for a cake from her store of cakes.
The selfish lady tried to bake small cakes but each time they seemed too big for her to give away. Finally, she baked one that was as thin as a wafer. Unable to part with it too, she put it on a shelf and did not give any cake to the Saint.
Saint Peter was very angry with her behaviour and said she was too selfish to live as a human and have food, shelter an

The commission of enquiry decided to make refunds to the peasants.Gandhi asked for 50%. But the representative of planters offered to refund to the extent of 25%. In order to break the deadlock, Gandhiji agreed to 25 percent refund to the farmers. For Gandhi, it was not the money but the principles that were of utmost importance. In his belief, the submission of British landlords was more significant than the percentage of refund. He wanted the poor farmers to realise that they too had rights and that they need not really live in fear of the British landlords. The conflict between the British p
Before the collision, the rod is at rest and bullet is moving with velocity u at a distance 0.8L. Therefore angular momentum of system before impact is,Bullet after hitting gets embedded into the rod.Let be the angular velocity of the system after impact. The angular momentum of system after impact is, Using the law of conservation of momentum This is the angular velocity of the system after the impact.
